Tabi Tales

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 19, 2026

Tabi Tales (“we,” “us,” or “this site”) is an independent, unofficial literary travel guide. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit tabitales.jp, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site — which pages are popular, how people arrive here, and general location/device information at an aggregated level. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this. We don’t use this information to identify you personally.

Contact form. If you use the form on our Contact page, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. It’s sent through a third-party form service, Web3Forms, which relays it to us by email. We use it only to respond to your message.

Affiliate links. Some links on this site (to hotel, tour, and book booking sites) are affiliate links. If you click one, the destination site may set its own cookies to track that the visit came from us, so we can earn a commission if you make a booking or purchase. We don’t control those cookies or that data — see the destination site’s own privacy policy for details. Full details on our affiliate relationships are on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for the analytics and affiliate purposes described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; blocking them won’t stop you from reading the site, though it may affect how affiliate referrals are tracked.

How we use information

We use the information above to understand and improve the site, respond to messages sent through the contact form, and earn affiliate revenue on referred bookings and purchases. We do not sell your information.

Third parties

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR in the UK/EU), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of information we hold about you. Since we collect very little personal information directly (mainly what you submit through the contact form), the simplest way to exercise these rights is to contact us — see below.

Children’s privacy

This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes — for example, as we add new affiliate programs. We’ll update the effective date above when we do.
